Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
Traveled on easterlies ntl/btl and found 6-8" of new snow in this drainage that accumulated over a 3 day stretch. The final 3-4" inches of low density fell last night after some brief clearing yesterday which seemed to have had enough effect to form a faint "eggshell" crust underneath the fluff. The final blast of snow proved to be reactive and produce several small Loose-dry releases on a range of aspects and elevations. The surface snow was sensitive to ski pressure and shed easily on old and new crusts. Some wind loaded pockets were found NTL isolated to rocky concavities that were small but easy to trigger. None of the slides ski triggered stepped down beyond the old interface and the debris fans arrested before piling up into the terrain traps. However, one natural observed on a north aspect btl did fail 2-3ft deep and produced a small D2. Snow surfaces on south and southeast were moist below 11k before lunchtime.
