Sunny
Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
Low density snow. Variable surface wind slab ranging from 1-4 inches. Significant wallowing in bottomless low density snow in the gully.
Avalanches
Avalanche Description:
Approx elevation 12,800, NW aspect. Fletcher Mountain Gullies. ~ 11:15am For my ski decent I went slowly - going side to side across the gully (rocks to rocks). At one of my rock stops the slope gave way about 100 yards above me. The entire gully slide to the ground - rocks and dirt were carried down with the debris. I would estimate the crown was at least 7-8 feet tall. I was safe on my spot on the rocks and proceeded to boot down the exposed rocks past the debris fan. While hiking down it was clear that a thick layer of sugary facets covered the ground level.
