Avalanches
Avalanche Description:
Avalanche triggered remotely while skinning below TL along the ridge adjacent to the path. Partner and I were roughly 50-75 yards away from the runout zone/deposit when the avalanche was triggered. We were standing on a flat section near the ridge at the top of our ski route and preparing to transition when the snow settled under our feet and the trees surrounding us shook. Few seconds later we noticed the slope up above avalanched. We skinned up to the toe of the debris to assess and take some photos of the avalanche. It ran to the ground and exposed the rocky bed surface. Crown of the avalanche was between 3'-6'. East Aspect Zero Creek Bowl area Average slope angle of the slope near the crown of the avalanche is 35 degrees. Avalanche ran approximately 400' to 450' vertical by 375' to 425' across.
