Scattered, wind approximately 10-15 mph from the West
Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
11:20 am, N 40.513116 W 105.897417, Incline approximately 38*, Some blowing snow. Aspect was east, 11,004 ft of elevation. Above treeline. Dug pit in approximately 310 cm of snow. CTH23 Sudden Collapse approximately 50 cm from the top. Snow was fist and 4 finger layers down approximately 50 cm from the top. The lower layer was pencil to the base of my pit (about a meter from the top). Snow grains toward the top were fragmented dendrites, then most layers below were only decomposing and fragmented.
Avalanches
Avalanche Description:
Wide avalanche that happened several days prior, reaching between the south shoulder trees to around the gash area of South Diamond. Above treeline. Knocked over smaller trees and broke branches off bigger ones. Large debris field that traveled down a couple of already cleared paths a good distance. We also have another recent avalanche by Nokhu Crags but I haven't gotten up there yet.
