BC Zone:
Vail & Summit County
Area Description:
Benchmark Bowl; specifically the Eastern Half of Abe's, Tweener's and CDC (all one slide)
Weather
Weather Description:
Heavy snow and wind
Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
Went to look down at Abes from top of hike, and there was a very heavy and deep layer of punchy snow
Avalanches
Avalanche Description:
Eastern Half of Abe's, Tweener's and CDC (all one slide)... I'd say there was at least a 18 inch crown; big chunks of snow. Ive seen many sluff-slides in Tweeners, but nothing like this. This was the first time in 11 years Ive ever seen one consistent (big) crown from Abe's all the way down past CDC. I noticed the only 2 skier tracks continued down to Old Man's. Thinking that they set it off from up top and then went to Old Man's.
