Snowpack

  • Snowpack Obsvervation #1
    • Comments: New snow bonding to old snow surface. Very minor cracking in isolated areas of drifted snow. New snow moist by noon, noticeable settling.
      Good freeze prior to snowfall, with 8 to 15 cm of P-K hard refrozen snow.
      Old snow is moist and unconsolidated to ground.
  • Snowpack Obsvervation #2
    • Comments: Small pockets of soft wind slabs in drifted areas. Pockets were not extensive, 1-3 m in width. Reactive and broke easily on a storm snow interface 20-30 cm deep.
  • Snowpack Obsvervation #3
    • Comments: New snow bonding to old snow surface. Very minor cracking in isolated areas of drifted snow.
      Old snow surface was 4F to P hard. Underneath, old snow still dry and faceted to ground above 11000 feet.
