Weather

• Weather Description: Cool and calm below treeline at the Henderson Mine lots of fluff still on trees. Gaining elevation to the back of the gulch some gusts swirled through the basin. Near and above treeline areas had moderate to strong winds from the west-northwest that moved snow easily and cross-loaded gullies.

Snowpack

• Snowpack Description: 10,500-11,000 ft showed a 40 cm snowpack which has all fallen in the last few days (based on the Jones Pass Snotel). At 10,500 ft the snow depth increased to about 1 m with thin (10-20 cm) thick wind slab. From 11,000 to the ridgeline at 12,000 ft the snow was highly variable from scalloped wind pillows to bare ground depending on wind exposure.

Avalanches

• Avalanche Description: (3) Wind Slab avalanches between 12-13,000 ft on NE to N aspects. All looked to have run in the last storm Saturday and early Sunday (11/15-11/16).

Wind Slab avalanche which ran during our last storm (11/15-11/16). Landmark: Other Elevation: 12000 ft Average Width: 250 ft Average Vertical: 850 ft Maximum Vertical: 850 ft Comments: Crown looks "soft". Active wind loading has already covered most of the debris.
