- Comments: We intentionally triggered an avalanche on the Y Chute off of Hidden Knoll. The avalanche started at the top of the path after a skier gave a hard, intentional, ski cut to a 'plump' looking pillow at the top of the path. The slide ran out the bottom of the chute. However the slide stayed in the storm snow layer and did not step down into the lower layers. We chose a different slope to ski.
