Snowpack Description:
Snodgrass Mt. Just NW of the "Glorry Hole" area. New Snow 12". Large scale natural avalanches propogating over 100yrds wide. Ran 1200ft. Dense wind blown snow ran on top of 2" of facets at ground level. Crowns were 10-14". Steeper slopes above 35 deg ran. Less steep slopes had not slid. Ski cuts and jumping created obvious cracks and sluffing but for the moment the slopes held. Sheer tests were freighteningly weak. Also failing on 2-3" of facets at ground level. Chose to ski the road back down.
