Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
Washington Gulch Tour, skied Southern slope of Conney's. Observed several slides on NE/E/SE aspects above tree line. All appeared to be natural. Saw a lot of cracking that propegated long dstance while skiing, but didnt feel instabilities while skiing fairly low angle slopes. Two worth noting: - The middle slope of Conney's slid from the convexity at the top of the slope and was R2D2. Lots of wind loading near the top/drop in zone. Snow depth 18" with depth hoar of 4-5" on top of bare ground. Ran about 1/3 of the way down the aspect. - SE facing slope of Baldy. R3D2. Slide ran from near the top of the peak and traveled a long distance. Also saw two other slides off Baldy further down the ridge (lookers left) that were smaller in size.
