Area Description:
Toured up Coney’s. Mostly skied slopes under 30°. Skiing was fast, soft, and supportive.
Weather
Weather Description:
Skies were overcast becoming obscured by afternoon. Light SW wind, even at ridge top. S-1 snowfall started @ 12:30. By 15:30 @ 9400ft precip was S1 w/ HST of 2cm and AirT of -1.5°C.
Snowpack
Snowpack Description:
Surface forms were near surface facets, crusts, and isolated surface hoar. HS of 90-150cm. At 10,000ft HS was 125cm, w/ boot pen 60cm and ski pen of 10cm. 1F midpack has become supportive, but still has very weak underlying facets and was punchy in a few locations. Belayed ski cuts produced no results. Minor cracking observed on wind-loaded cornice.
